SANSER SAUNA

The aim of this project was to do a complete design process, choosing what we wanted to learn, and achieve it. This was a project made in pairs.

The design of this sauna was due of an indepth analysis on the Scandinavian design, the and it was focused in improving the user experience.

We planned to do a Scandinavian design project. We wanted to develop a piece of wooden furniture and after the research we designed the Sanser sauna.

The concept of this design is focused in the atmosphere and the transmissions that the place gives to the users.

The tree is the inspiration of this design concept, because we wanted to do  natural design combining organic and modern forms.

We have developed the idea from the inside to the outside due to the main importance of the product and the feelings that it transmits.

The objective of this design is the feeling, so we have analyzed it for the five senses:

SIGHT: Light inside, windows for the landscape, organic doors like tree holes.

HEARING: Nature that involves you, the movement of the branches and animals.

TASTE: Space for your tea or drink.

TOUCH: Soft benches, wood texture.

SMELL: Incense (Holy wood)

Our sauna is thought to be placed in Baklidammen, which is one of the lakes found next to Trondheim. This lake has been chosen because of its beautiful landscape that surrounds it, that permits amazing views from every side of the river.

The sauna could be also be place in other lakes with beatiful views or in the fiord. Although, it could have been situated in Lade too, or even, it could be really

convenient to place it near the typical norwegian cabin that the families have to spend some relaxing days in the nature.

Talking about the lake we have chosen to design our sauna, the windows offer three different perspectives: the water, as a first level, the mountain and vegetation on  a second step and finally  the sky, on the top.
